How to apply Foam Heroes Kick Down glass water repellent

Kick Down is a ceramic coating for glass. How long it lasts depends on your prep, so don't skip a single step.

Prep

Two-stage wash: a touchless pre-wash with Citrus Buddy, rinsed bottom to top; then a contact wash with acidic wash soap (1:10). Clean the window frames with Juicy Citrus.

Deep cleaning the glass

Remove mineral deposits and old coatings with Lime Scrub — by hand with a felt applicator pad or with a machine and a medium-firm pad, using cross-hatch passes. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.

Surface prep and application

Wipe the glass with a lint-free microfiber towel and Easy Prep. Shake the bottle well and apply Kick Down in a cross-hatch pattern: on the windshield, go horizontally, then vertically. Ideal conditions: 68 to 77 °F (20 to 25 °C) and 40–60% humidity. Let it flash for 10–15 minutes; if you want, add a second layer to the windshield after 20–25 minutes, then buff off with a clean microfiber towel.

Curing

Give the coating at least an hour in a dry environment — ideally 8 hours before it touches water and 7 days before washing.

The result: clean glass, less wiper work and a service life of up to 12 months.
