You can get almost the whole interior sorted in one evening — just follow the order and never put chemicals on top of dust and sand. This order works for a quick cleanup and for full interior deep cleaning alike.

The order to clean your interior

1. Start with the vacuum. Pull the floor mats and vacuum the interior thoroughly. For seams, vents and tight spots, use the Tweaks detailing brush.

2. Clean the plastic and panels. Use Cleanton or the Swipe Interior quick detailer.

3. Move on to fabric and carpet. Clean Cabin and Inner Foam are concentrates: dilute them with water 1:10–1:20, and the dilution calculator will give you the ratio. Apply the solution, give it some dwell time, work the surface with a brush or an air-powered interior cleaning gun, then pull the dirt and moisture out with an extractor. Clean the headliner with foam only, using as little moisture as possible.

4. Clean the leather. Start with Pure Leather, then apply Velvet Leather leather conditioner.

5. Clean the glass from the inside. Do this last — that way no overspray or product residue lands on clean glass. Glass Tonic or Citrus Glass both work, and neither harms window tint.

6. Air the interior out. Don't close the car up until every surface is completely dry. Use an air freshener after you're done cleaning.

Scents

Interior products don't have to smell like plain "chemical fragrance" — they can smell like things you know: Cream Soda, Gummy Bears, Almond & Cherry, Cherry Soda from Swipe Interior, or banana milkshake from Nice Quick.

FAQ

Where do I start with the interior?
With the vacuum and a dry cleanup. Any chemical on top of sand and dust just smears it across the surface. Get the dry dirt out first, then reach for the products — and follow the order above from there.
Can I clean the whole interior with one product?
The Cleanton interior cleaner handles most surfaces. But leather and glass want their own: leather needs more than a cleaner — it needs a conditioner too — and on glass an all-purpose product often leaves streaks.
How do I remove an odor instead of masking it?
Find the source. Usually it's the upholstery or the floor mats soaking up the smell. Interior deep cleaning helps, because it washes the dirt out instead of covering it with scent. Hang the air freshener once the interior is clean.
